living with cancer on a boat

I discovered a lump a few months ago and have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s a little odd given that I am in my early thirties and pretty damn healthy but the doctors insist that the lump is malignant and should be treated with chemotherapy before they remove it.

So I am going to find out about what it means to have cancer and how one goes about living with the side effects of chemotherapy in a small space that rocks when the wind blows a bit harder than usual. I am going to experience not having any hair, worrying about cleanliness because my immune system is not functioning and the intrusiveness of IVF scans, which one friend describes as like having a dildo inside you taking pictures…

I will try not to share too much. But I might share just a little snippet because it’s a new experience and maybe it might be interesting to write some of it down.
